ABOUT SG HOLDINGS FOUNDATION ANNUAL SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME

The SG Holdings Foundation Scholarship Scheme is dedicated to supporting indigenes of the Ijemo Community. This Scheme provides financial assistance to students enrolled in public universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education across Nigeria. Additionally, it includes an intervention fund (donation) to enhance the existing Scholarship Fund of the Christ Anglican Church, Ijemo Abeokuta, specifically for students who are members of the Church.

The Scholarship Scheme will be conducted annually during the third quarter of each year (July to September). It covers undergraduate programs in the following fields:

- Medical Courses
- Engineering
- Law
- Education
- Basic & Applied Sciences
- ICT/Computer Science
- Agriculture
- Management Sciences (Economics, Business administration, Accounting, Marketing, Banking & Finance)
- Environmental Studies (Architecture, Quantity Surveying, Town & Regional Planning)

All courses must be pursued on a full-time basis. The Scholarship Board retains the discretion to define and adjust the coverage of courses as deemed appropriate.

CONDITIONS FOR THIS SCHOLARSHIP

Applicants for the SG Holdings Foundation Scholarship Scheme must meet the following criteria:

1. Applicants must be a native of IJEMO in Abeokuta, Ogun State or must have lived in IJEMO not less than 15 years
2. Be a Student of a Public University, Polytechnic College of Education
3. For Freshers: Applicants must have gained admission through JAMB and paid the required Acceptance Fee.
4. For returning Students: Those applying from 200 Level onward must provide their CGPA, duly signed and certified by the Dean of the Faculty or HOD. Only students with a CGPA of at least Second Class lower (Universities), Lower Credit (Polytechnics), or Credit (Colleges of Education) will be eligible for this Scholarship.

HOW TO APPLY :

OPTION 1

Candidates must submit their applications via email to SGHF@sgholdingslimited.com”with the subject.“Application for 2024 Attaching the following:

1. A one-page document detailing your academic background, the purpose of applying for the scholarship, and how you will add value to the Community after graduation. (Please do not exceed one page)
2. Local Government Certificate of Origin.
3. Proof of CGPA printed from the school portal, signed and stamped by the Dean or Head of Department.
4. JAMB/Institution’s Admission Letter.
5. Completed Application letter and Attestation letter (Click to download the Application letter and Attestation letter.
6. Student Identity Card.
7. Proof of Payment of School Admission Acceptance Fee(for new students only)

PLEASE NOTE THAT THOSE WHO SUBMITTED THEIR DOCUMENTS ONLINE VIA OPTION 1 WILL NEED TO BRING ALL ORIGINAL PHYSICAL DOCUMENTS WITH THEM DURING THE INTERVIEW.

OPTION 2

Candidates can also take all these documents listed above to the SG Holdings Foundation Secretariat at 59 Olorunsogo Road Oke Lantoro Roundabout, Abeokuta (Beside Al Hilaal Hospital)

Important Notes:

- All submitted documents shall be verified by the Scholarship Board.

- Applicants must submit attestation letter from a notable Ijemo Chief confirming their Ijemo nativity and good behavior. click here to download the attestation letter template)

- This letter should be addressed to the Executive Secretary, SG Holdings Foundation Scholarship Board, and delivered to the SG Holdings Foundation Secretariat at 59 Olorunsogo Road Oke Lantoro Roundabout, Abeokuta (Beside Al Hilaal Hospital). or via email as part of the documents submitted.

- Please note that your application will not be considered complete until all these requirements are met.

ONLYShortlisted candidates shall be invited for PHYSICAL INTERVIEW / SCREENING EXERCISE for final selection

SCHOLARSHIP VALUE:

University - N150,000 per annum
Polytechnics - N125,000 per annum
College of Education - N100,000 per annum

Application deadline: The application must be submitted no later than August 31, 2024

The scholarship is subject to the availability of funds and at the discretion of the foundation and as such the foundation shall not be held liable for any damages or losses incurred by applicants as a result of applying for or not receiving the scholarship.
